Pet Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy Heals & Relieves Pet Pain
Laser therapy is a painless, non-invasive treatment that uses modulated infrared rays to help reduce pain and speed the healing of inflamed or damaged tissues.
At Hope Veterinary Care, we use it in a variety of situations, both chronic and acute.
- Arthritis and degenerative joint disease
- Pain management
- Dermatology Muscle, ligament, and tendon injuries
- Sprains and strains
- Hip dysplasia
- Post-surgery
After surgery, we can use laser therapy to help relieve pain and speed healing in the affected area. More often, laser therapy is performed as an outpatient procedure, scheduled with our trained laser specialists.

What is a laser therapy treatment?
Laser therapy is part of a pain management plan that involves a series of treatments. We will develop a schedule based on your pet’s particular condition. Generally, multiple sessions are required, but pets often receive some relief and immediate benefit even following the first treatment.
What is laser therapy like for my pet?
Painless and non-invasive for your pet, laser therapy sessions generally last 10–20 minutes. The laser operator (one of our trained technicians) uses a hand-held, wand-like instrument to apply laser energy to the targeted area, using a scanning, grid-like pattern. Many pets (particularly dogs) find the treatment relaxing. You are invited to accompany your pet during laser therapy.
Is laser therapy safe?
Laser therapy is FDA approved and has been used in human medicine for years. Hope Vet Care takes appropriate precautions and provides specialized eyewear to protect the eyes of the patient, client, and technician. Laser therapy has no side effects.
If your cat or dog suffers from chronic pain or has limited mobility, laser therapy could help. Talk with us at your next appointment or call us at (401) 823-7211 to discuss it as an option for your pet.
